Project Description

Commissioned for Light Night Liverpool 2018. This is an audio visual installation that uses a laser and a special custom made lens to diffract and reflect light around the room, creating a brilliant and mesmerising effect. The light moves around the room in a way which looks similar to an aurora or solar effect emenating from space. This installation was presented at the Royal Institute of British Architects in Liverpool.

The term diffringere is a latin conjugation meaning to break apart and shatter and in the context of this installation refers to the way in which a highly homogenous and bright light and passing it through a special custom built lens to create a complex and intricate effect of colour.

Project Date May 2018: Liverpool, United Kingdom
